Our Story

You can discover A Love for Books, but it does not mean that you should not care about the Environment
Luxsento’s story began with a simple observation: number of books that is being dumped every year. A variety of traditions, sources of information and ideas, were being discarded as waste and became one more source of pressure to the environment. On the same note, the ever increasing size of the population which demanded new books put into the market, meant the continually using up of trees to produce paper, chemicals used in production, and the emission of carbon in transportation.
This embarrassed many people since there were no middlemen that could offer proper sourcing for the luxury products we, the founders of Luxsento, spotted the gap. Our vision was quite simple: to create a platform that is symbolic of the aesthetics of used books and an organisation of its overall functioning which is in a way, different from the conventional model of selling books. Our goals for creating the platform were to bring together readers who would feel the same about pre-owned books in particular and obtain a positive impact on the environment at the same time.

To promote a sustainable reading experience: Through this way of promoting the sale of used books, we want to minimize the harm done to the environment by the book industry. We cut back on the requirement for new paper production, reduce the usage of chemicals in the printing process, and decrease the emission of green house gases related to transportation of books.
